ACOUSTICS
Acoustics is the science that deals with the production, control, transmission, reception, and effects of sound. In the marine environment, sound is the most effective means of transmitting energy and information over long distances due to the way it propagates through water.
PHOTONICS
COMPUTER VISION
Photonics is the physical science of light (photons) and its generation, detection, and manipulation through emission, transmission, modulation, signal processing, switching, amplification, and sensing. It is essentially the electronic equivalent of optics, but specifically deals with light particles.
MICROWAVE
Microwaves are a form of electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths ranging from about one meter to one millimeter, corresponding to frequencies between 300 MHz and 300 GHz. While they attenuate rapidly in water, their interaction with the sea surface and atmosphere above is incredibly valuable.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computer systems. These processes include learning (the acquisition of information and rules for using the information), reasoning (using rules to reach approximate or definite conclusions), and self-correction.
